Drip

Over on David Trampe’s Hear AND Listen blog Dave was working on a few different water droplet shots.  Since I had some time to kill this afternoon I decided to fool around with some water as well.

Note to self, clean glass better before taking photos next time :)

Christmas Cardinals

My parents have about four pair of Cardinals that frequently feed at my dad’s bird feeders each year. While visiting for Christmas I had the chance to borrow my Uncle’s camera and take a few photos of through the family room window. We had just gotten a fresh coating of snow and it was still sticking to the branches so the red birds really popped out against the background. I think setting up a remote camera out by the feeder might be a fun experiment sometime.

Winona State vs. Concordia

Being a Winona State alumni I get the occasional email from the alumni staff telling me of upcoming events taking place in the Twin Cities area. I had yet to go to one but when they said that they were having a pre-game social at Sweeney’s, a bar I frequent regularly anyway, I decided it was time to check one out. Also having shot my fair share of Winona State basketball games while in school I thought it would be a good reason to bring the camera along and try my hand at shooting the game. I can’t remember the last time I photographed a basketball game so it was fun to get back into the action.

Daylight

Awhile back I had the opportunity to photograph one of Minnesota’s most well known breakdancers known as Daylight. Daylight, aka Damian Day, is a founding member of the Battlecats, and is also a Red Bull sponsored athlete which allows him to tour the country promoting the energy drink.

Morbid

My friend Pete Ryan started a social club of sorts called Morbid (Minnesota Off Road Bikers into Drinking). Sounded like the perfect fit for me. He recently had some stickers printed up and when I saw three blank pint glasses at Goodwill, well it seemed like just the reason to set up the light box.

Drinking Alone Part II

Northern Brewer mentioned on their website that they were looking for photos to use in their upcoming catalog that showed off readers home draft setups. I decided it was a perfect time to recreate my drinking alone photo to make it a bit more of a party.
