For Christmas Laura and my Uncle purchased me an Olympus voice recorder along with a Sony microphone:
I’d asked for the gift because I’d like to start recording some ambient sound to go along with some of the photographs I take. This afternoon was the first time I’d really gotten a chance to sit down and fiddle with it. I figured why not have a beer while I test it out and ended up coming up with this:

So far I’m using Winamp to convert the sound files into wav format. Then I open the wav files in Audacity which allows me to edit the sound bites and make one final mp3 file. I then can upload the sound file along with my photos in Soundslides where I can arrange the photos and create the show you see above. Hopefully I’ll have something with a little more content next time. 🙂
