Honeymooning

Me looking oh so chipper in waiting for our next flight in Memphis. We left out of Milwaukee Airport at about 5 a.m and arrived at the resort just after noon.

After a very uneventful flight (though I thought the the three guys in front of me were terrorists plotting something) we made it to our resort about an hour from Cancun.

Waiting for our room to be ready we took some time to get our shorts on and find our way to the bar  for our first of many drinks had during the course of the week. Oddly enough the first beer I ordered was warm and had me panicking that beer was served warm in Mexico.  I thought I was up a creek, luckily it was just a fluke,  must have been changing out the keg.

Swings are a big theme throughout the resort with all the bars having swings lining the edges and a lot of the beds on the beach are on rope swings as well.

Laura and I nnouncing our arrival at the beach.

Once our room was made up we headed over to get unpacked.  The room was by far the nicest hotel room I’ve ever stayed in.

Everyday the maids would leave these funky towel sculptures.

Mmm sleep.  Getting up at 3 a.m and flying to Mexico takes its toll.

With the resort being all inclusive, including 24 hour room service we made sure to make use of breakfast in our room each day.

Me schooling Laura in ping-pong. 😉

  1. Laura and I made to snag plenty of the little shampoo bottles from the room each day and today I decided to crack one of them open. Ahhh interest memory, closed my eyes and I was back in Mexico. I truly do love how sounds, smells, taste etc. can trigger such memories.
