Pete Ryan went to Montana awhile back and was kind enough to pick me up a nice sample of beers that are not readily available to those of us who live here in Minnesota. Included in the bunch were a Rogue Mocha Porter, Bayern Dancing Trout and Trout Slayer Ale, Deschutes Mirror Pond Ale, and Kettle House Double Haul IPA and Cold Smoke Scotch Style Ale. I’m looking forward to tonight. Thanks Pete!
Holzinger Lodge – Winona, Mn
It has been way to long since I last rode my mountain bike in Winona and my legs and lungs can attest to that. On Saturday Laura, Slim, and I drove down to Winona to meet up with eleven other riders, including Pete Ryan. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and those of us who went to school down in Winona, including Josh Leonard, had a blast showing off what used to be our local trails.
After hitting up the trails we all ventured downtown Winona for an All American Burger and a few pitchers of beer at Bub’s before heading our separate ways.

Black Eyed Snakes – Duluth, Mn
On Friday my brother mentioned to me that the Black Eyed Snakes were playing a show in Duluth that night and he suggested, half jokingly, that I should come up to see it. So, thinking it was to last minute to just drive to Duluth I mentioned it to Greg and Laura anway and well they said let’s go. So we did.
Show started at eleven p.m, we got to bed around 4:30 a.m, and were in the car by 7:30 a.m heading back to the cities. Not only that but I managed to get in a burrito and three really good beers at Burrito Union before heading to Pizza Luce for the show.
