Emerald & Peter

We met up with Emerald and Peter on the day after Valentine’s Day to shoot their engagement photos. We started at Dunn Bros. off Hennepin by Mill City Ruins, ventured down toward the ruins and the Guthrie, then crossed the Stone Arch Bridge to St. Anthony Main, where we stopped by the restaurant where Peter proposed to Emerald.

Despite the chilly weather, we had a blast and are very much looking forward to their wedding on May 30.

New look, same feel

With the help of our awesome and talented friend, Beth Everhart (you can see her shining face in the post below), we are proud to introduce the latest addition to Scott Haraldson Photography: Our new logo is sleeker and all-encompassing of our photographic styles, while remaining true to our photojournalistic roots. Much thanks to Beth!

Beth & Jeff

I thought I’d post some photos of our good friends Beth & Jeff.  We shot these this past fall.  Laura and I were running late and we were just able to jump into the car drive to a local golf course and then run down to the train tracks as we chased the last little bit of golden light as it set under the treeline.

Beth is also very talented and has been helping me with some neat things that I’m excited to share in the near future.  Stay tuned!

Wed: Sarah & Josh

Sarah & Josh got married on a sunny Aug. 2, 2008. We met Josh through mutual friends at Red Bull, and immediately we connected over our mutual love of the energy drink and kickball. Sarah had her hair and makeup done at Spalon Montage in Woodbury.

Both Josh and Sarah got ready at hotels near their reception site of Oak Marsh Golf Course in Oakdale, Sarah at Wildwood Lodge and Josh at Holiday Inn Express.

After stopping off at Target to pick up some black socks for the best man, the bride and groom met up at Rice Park in Saint Paul to catch a first moment together before the ceremony began.

Sarah had to reserve her date a year and a half ahead of time to secure Saint Paul’s Cathedral, and the architecture of the historic building is more than worth it. The Cathedral is prepping and raising money for a $30 million renovation.

All of the floral decorations were created by Josh’s dad.

One of the things we selfishly really enjoyed about Sarah & Josh was their wililngness to do just about anything in their wedding clothes. From a trip to McDonalds to Kellogg Park to traipsing across and even getting down on the grass at the golf course, it was clear they were having the best day of their lives, and it made our job of capturing their moments so enjoyable.

E&E

Erin & Erik contacted us last winter inquiring about photography services for this fall. Erin is the sister of one of Laura’s good friends from college. She runs, he bikes, similar to the two of us. In spring we scooted around Minneapolis with the couple, just skirting rain showers at Lake Harriet.

We snapped a couple of quick pics when we first met with Erik & Erin last winter in Saint Paul’s Rice Park.

Just a week before, we’d shot a wedding that drove us right by this bridge along Minnehaha Parkway in Minneapolis. Unable to stop that day, we made a point to pause briefly on our way to Minnehaha Falls with Erin & Erik.

Erik & Erin were real troopers, happily changing clothes throughout the day to lend some diversity to our pics. Check out Erin’s heels!

Erin & Erik have just less than a month to go before their big day. Best of luck to them as they finalize their plans!
