Saint Paul Winter Carnival

The Saint Paul Winter Carnival is billed as the nation’s oldest and largest winter festival. Today it might just have been also considered the coldest. The temperature dipped down into the negative double digits and as far down as negative forty when factoring in the wind chill. Despite the bitter cold Laura, Greg, Katie, and I ventured down to Harriet Island to promote Laura and Katie’s magazines (Saint Paul Illustrated, Woodbury, and St. Croix Valley magazine) as well as take part in a few of the festivities that were happening.

Stupor Bowl

Think I have enough hops for our Super Bowl party?

1 keg of Surly Furious

2 sixers of Bell’s Hopslam

Not to mention the keg of Double IPA homebrew I have on tap already.  Don’t worry for those of you who would rather have something that can be put down by the bucket I also have a keg of Summit Grand Pilsner on tap as well.

Blast From the Past

Andy was helping me replace Laura’s car’s brake pads and rotors yesterday and while digging through a drawer he found these old Polaroids from a party we had while I was living down in Winona. I lived there during my junior year of college but I can’t quite remember when this party took place. Maybe someone can help fill in my memory?

Honeymooning

Doing a little backtracking here as I realized many of you have never gotten a chance to see photos from our honeymoon. After Laura and I got married we got a flight out on Monday morning to head down to Mexico’s riviera maya and to the El Dorado Seaside Suites. The resort is located on the secluded beach of Kantenah, just about 45 Minutes south of Cancun Airport and 25 minutes south of Playa del Carmen.

Heading into the week long adventure I was a bit nervous because the weather reports were showing thunderstorms everyday of our trip. Luckily I found out that means it downpours for about twenty minutes everyday in the afternoon. Just enough to cool you off 🙂
