Fire in the Disco!

As many of you have already learned Laura and I had a fire in our house last Wednesday night. We were out of the house for a potential client meeting and returned to find the fire had already put itself out but the house was completely full of a thick black smoke. We were able to get the dogs out and call the fire department to come look to make sure nothing was still going to start up again and to help blow as much of the smoke out as possible.

Pretty much all of the fire damage was in the kitchen but pretty much all of the house suffered smoke damage. Because of this almost everything in our house has had to have been removed for cleaning or replaced. Thank goodness our insurance agents have been so wonderful in making this as smooth a process as possible. They are supposed to have an expert out to find out what the cause as we’re curious to that as well.

Because of the amount of damage we’ll be living in a nearby rented house for the next few months while they fix our house. To all our wedding clients I should be getting my computer back today so I can resume work on getting everyone photos edited and out to you as soon as possible.

Both Laura and I want to thank everyone for their outgoing offers of support. We’ll let you know if we need anything.

A few photos quick pics of the damage:

Being Baby H.

Today, to celebrate our 2-year anniversary, Scott and I got to get our first real glimpse at Baby H, who’s 21 weeks old. We are not finding out the gender of our baby, but are taking bets (see post from early September).

Baby H. is already making an impression as a squirmer and a disobedient little bugger, and because of this our 3D images didn’t turn out that great. They’re fairly distorted, but we included a couple anyway because the technology is still just so incredible. I was kind of bummed though that we couldn’t see more but baby just didn’t want to cooperate.

Wed: Sarah & Josh

Sarah & Josh got married on a sunny Aug. 2, 2008. We met Josh through mutual friends at Red Bull, and immediately we connected over our mutual love of the energy drink and kickball. Sarah had her hair and makeup done at Spalon Montage in Woodbury.

Both Josh and Sarah got ready at hotels near their reception site of Oak Marsh Golf Course in Oakdale, Sarah at Wildwood Lodge and Josh at Holiday Inn Express.

After stopping off at Target to pick up some black socks for the best man, the bride and groom met up at Rice Park in Saint Paul to catch a first moment together before the ceremony began.

Sarah had to reserve her date a year and a half ahead of time to secure Saint Paul’s Cathedral, and the architecture of the historic building is more than worth it. The Cathedral is prepping and raising money for a $30 million renovation.

All of the floral decorations were created by Josh’s dad.

One of the things we selfishly really enjoyed about Sarah & Josh was their wililngness to do just about anything in their wedding clothes. From a trip to McDonalds to Kellogg Park to traipsing across and even getting down on the grass at the golf course, it was clear they were having the best day of their lives, and it made our job of capturing their moments so enjoyable.
